Eye Opener

Working as a Nurse of the RN Heals Program of the Department of Health Batch 3 our deployment was about CHT or Community Health Team. Prior to our deployment we were trained for NHTS-PR (National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction) which is a program of our government focusing on our less fortunate kababayan.

*If you are also a nurse you might have heard from your PHC II class or on a Review Class on Community Health of the Millennium Development Goal and the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4P's for short.

This program is basically centered towards the poor Filipino family and it involves a "cash grant" or in other term; a financial assistance to the poor. The poor family will receive money from the government but with terms and conditions apply.

And this is where we come in.

You can say that we are part of the team that aids in the implementation of NHTS-PR. We are responsible for the assessment of the poor through a house-house interview.

As a nurse we only act as a manager; validating the data collected by the BHW (Barangay Health Worker). So its the BHW who does the house to house visit. That is why they need to be trained for the program.

And that is how we end up here.

the CHT TRAINING for BHW! *tenen*

so from here onward I'd be narrating through the captions

Enough of my almost photodump post! My post is not really about discussing how the program works, It is about what I saw during the "house to house visit" practicum during our CHT training for the BHW (Barangay Health Worker).

And this was what I saw!
